Party time, excellent !

Friday evening I had a birthday party and then went to a pub with my friends to go dancing. And I danced until the morning hours to the music of Í svörtum fötum and enjoyed the view of the muscular abdomen of the singer Jónsi. MMMMmmmm, niceeeeeee. A great evening altogether, my very nice friends gave me gifts that show that they really know me :-) Júlíana gave me a coffee candle, Sif gave me playing cards with rude insults and remarks, Krisín Anna gave me cook books with healthy meals, Sigrún gave me the latest Michael Crichton novel and Harpa, Ágústa, Sonja and Gunna gave me a vibrator egg ! Oh happy day !

World Class lady

I did it ! I actually went ahead and started training at the gym ! World Class at Laugar. Whooohoo ! I had a trainer that showed me how to use the equipment and he made me a program that I can follow the next few weeks. I had to do each exercise 15 times. I feel just fine, but I suspect that in the morning I'll be in pieces ! But at least I have started ! Good health, here I come !

Happy birthday to me !!

Today is my 33rd birthday !! Amazing I made it so far, considering how my luck has been the last couple of years ! The day begun when a very nice 6yr old called me and wished me happy birthday and sang the birthday song for me. He then asked me how old I was and when I told him he went WOOOOW ! Older than my mother !! Hmmm, must talk to my friend Sigrún about teaching your kid to be sensitive to aging women :-) Very nice start of the day, and since then the phone hasn't stopped ringing and the text messages are piling up. Not to mention e-mail cards. And of course the clock at work that plays the birthday song when you check in at the beginning of the work day. My co-worker Tommi even bought me a cake and my dear friend Jakob in Denmark sent me some lovely flowers (see picture). After work I went to a restaurant with Hilda, my sister Svanhildur and her family. Very very cozy. Then visited my mum and got a present. My darling Hilda gave me the latest James Patterson novel, mum gave me spoons and a vegetable steam-cooking thingy, and my sister Svanhildur gave me a book on card games. HAPPY HAPPY DAY ! Despite the prognosis, this was according to the international press supposed to be the worst day of the year ! Well, if all the rest are going to be better, I'm in for some fun !

Hush hush the baby is sleeping

Steingrímur Páll finally gave up at 23:24 :-) Was in high spirits then fell asleep facedown on the mattress. :-) He is staying with me until tomorrow. It is so nice to have a tiny little person to take care of. My own daughter is getting rather BIG and harder to handle. So, now I go to bed, because I know the little guy will wake up early :D. Sweet dreams !

Wonderful weekend :-)

This was a wonderful weekend. Three days spent with good friends eating candy, good food and playing all sorts of games well into the night. And of course a nice soak in the hot tub. Mmmmmmm. The only anoying thing was that the road up to our summerhouse had not been cleared like it was supposed to, so we had to stomp a longer way throught deep, wet snow with all our tings. GRRRD. We called the supervisor for the area and he just said tough luck, you have to walk. But the next morning they came and cleared the road and the parking lot outside our house. A tad late, but at least we could drive the jeep closer and thus had to carry our stuff a shorter way when going home. Over the weekend we played games like Carcassone, Rummikub, Isis and Osiris, Luxor, Fluxx and more. Wunderbar. The girls present were Magnea, her daughter Eyrún (6 months), Björg and Helga. The two remaining gameclub members couldn't come :-( But they'll join us next time :-) The weather was not the greatest and the roads very slippery. By driving carefully we made it back and forth without incidence. Now I go to bed happy, relaxed and ready to face the week. I love my gameclub :-)

NEW CAR !! And a trip to a summerhouse to play games all weekend !

I am soooo happy ! Today I bought a new car ! It's a Suzuki Baleno station, 4wd, 1998, driven 81.000 km and has a very nice dark green colour. ME FEELING VERY HAPPY INDEED :-) And now I'm going to a summerhouse near Laugavatn with The Game Club, 4-5 happy girls playing board/card games all weekend. I'm in heaven, I'm in heaven..... So, more later after the weekend, and some pictures. Tah dah !

All in all a nice weekend, aside from the fact that hunting for cars is a BORING job. I'm afraid I'll be taking the bus soon. Blahdrwr. But let's focus on Friday. My friend Sonja invited us for dinner in her lovely new house in Selfoss, S-Iceland. 6 girls together, gossiping and giggling together :-) The dinner was GREAT, a leg of lamb perfectly prepared with lots of nice things to go with it. And the 4 types of ice cream for desert.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ! Me likes :-) I was almost comatose after dinner, I was so full. It was a great evening and we all went home in high spirits. And we made it home alive, despite my friend Águsta insisting to drive in the middle of the road all the time ;-) Evenings like this really charge ones batteries :-) Pictures later :-)

Hehe, when I was following the eruption of Mount St. Helens I had a link open to a webcam directed at the mountain. It updated ever 3 minutes. Once when I looked at it this fly had landed on the lens. Helloooo mum, I'm heeeere :-) Fly fame !
