Birthday party, restaurant dinner and Björg is back !

Blogger has been giving me a hard time, since the account was moved to Google. Grrr ! Anyway, latest news of the crippled lady are due. Saturday night I celebrated my birthday in the company of 10 friends. I had a wonderful time and got some great gifts as well (ooo lucky :-)) Books, jewelry and beverages, muchos niceos. Me, Gunna and Sigrún even went downtown and checked out the pub scene. Disappointing ! Sunday evening I took Hilda to dinner at the restaurant Cafe Opera in downtown Reykjavík. We both had stone steak and bananasplit as desert. Great mother and daughter time, we enjoyed ourselves so much, laughing and eating delicious food. Tuesday evening the game club went to meet a wayward member that has now rejoined the flock for a couple of months. Björg has arrived from the USA with her baby son Ísak. That little guy has a skyhigh cuteness factor. Of course we played Carcassone ! Was anyone in doubt ? Now I'll try to post some pictures, Hello doesn't work since I moved to Google, but I'll give it a shot with Blogger.

It's my birthday and I'll smile if I want to :-)

Happy birthday to me ! Today I turned 35 !! Finally grown up, hahahaha.. Or something. Erhm. Anyways, the day was very nice, everybody kissing me and wishing me happy birthday :-) Nice to feel all that loooooooove for at least one day :-) Btw, those who forgot my birthday will be cruelly punished, muaaahahahhahahahahahahhah ! (I have softened from last year, then I put them on my death list...). Me and Hilda had a lovely dinner and then it was meditation time. Very very nice :-) Then me and Hilda had some quality chocolate time together :-) Now I sit here in my bathrobe (no, don't think anything dirty), relaxed and happy. Good night :-)))

Latest news: Cindy visiting, Hilda competing and new animals in the house

Had a great weekend. My friend Cindy stayed here from Thursday to Sunday and we had a great time, chatting, drinking beer, eating good food and watching films :-) Sweeeet :-) Hilda compteted in an athletics tournament this weekend and won 3 medals, silver for pole jumping, bronze for shot and 800m run. Cool :-) And finally, new animals in my personal zoo: two gerbils destined to be put to sleep have moved in. One grey and one brown. Cute :-) Finally, the news flash of the week: A couple came to see the apartment. Didn't look very interested, but hey, at least somebody has come now !

Comet McNaught spotted !

Yesterday morning I finally saw the comet McNaught in all it's glory. I had been trying to spot it all week but hit jackpot today. Weee :-) This is the third comet I see in my lifetime. The first was comet Halley, in 1986. Then Hale-Bopp in 1997 and now our new friend McNaught. One comet roughly every 10 years. Not bad :-) I stole this picture of it from an astrology website. It's really cool. I like comets, as long as they are not headed straight for planet Earth...

My father's birthday

Today my father would have turned 86. Me and Svanhildur went to his grave with Guðlaug, Steinar and Steingrímur and lit some candles for him. May he rest in peace. Happy birthday to him and to my friend Kristín's father, who would have turned 66 today to. Hope they are somewhere having coffee together :-)
