Great weekend :-)

My honey bunny Steingrímur was staying with me this weekend and we were lucky enough to get an invitation to go to a summer house in Húsafell. My sister Magga and her husband Siggi had rented it for the week. My sister Helen came with us. We arrived around 5 o'clock Saturday. The weather was great, the heat like in Mallorca and the sun shining brightly. We grilled and ate untill we burst, then we took a short session in the hot tub. Steingrímur wasn't too thrilled about that ! Then we played Scrabble, Magga won, the "(&#(&Q(/&(%755 ! The next day my sister Svanhildur and her family came too, and of course we played another game of Scrabble, and this time, I won ! That's more like it! I rounded off the weekend by visiting Júlíana after returning Steingrímur. We played Carcassone and ate sweets untill my stomach burst. Great weekend :-)) !!! More pictures on Steingrímur's website.

Snoop Dogg - Say you love Iceland

Sunday evening I was measuring the sound level at the Snoop Dogg concert in Egilshöll. Snoop Dogg (the artist formerly known as Snoop Doggy Dogg) isn't really my cup of tea, but he surprised me by being rather likeable on stage. The concert was good and Snoop really got the house going. Everybody was singing and moving in unison and repeating some words or phrases at Snoops command. Say you love Iceland was one. Snoop seemed to like the crowd and wowed to be back six times a year. He also said "fuck Norway", from what I've heard the concert there didn't got very well. But Iceland was agreeing with the rap-superstar. One thing I've got to say, he has to kill his stylist. He was wearing something that was a cross between a kaftan and the dorky overalls that were so popular in the '80's, with african batik pattern. Gaaaaaaaaaa !

Friday night visit and chat

I spent Friday night visiting my friend Sif. Hilda was with me, and Gunna came too. Sif's daughter, Arna Ösp was awake, and in HIGH spirits :-) She danced to the music on TV, laughed and crawled around, smiling all the while :-) Her mother finally persuaded her to go to sleep but some murmurs could heard from the bedroom for awhile, the little party animal wasn't happy about missing all the fun. We just lounged in the lovely new american sofa and chatted until nearly one'o'clock. Very nice and comfy evening :-)

It's after miiiidnight !

It's after midnight and I'm wide awake ? Why ? Because I've been asleep since around 18:00. Again why ? Yes, because I was working from 5 last night (woke up at 4), measuring the sound of a lawnmower at a golfcourse. He he yes, my job can take me interesting places at interesting times :-) It was actually very nice to be outside in the sunshine, listening to the birds singing (btw, birds can be VERY loud !) and chatting with my friend and co-worker Lóa. I wasn't feeling so nice at 16:00, having been awake for 12 hours but I only managed to sleep for 2,5 hours before work. But now I'm feeling just fine, cuddling my Clooney and eating ice cream. Mmmm,me like life :D

Today is the birthday of my dear friend, game club buff and co-worker Helga Guðrún. She is twenty-three........ish today.. give or take a couple of years :-) Happy birthday Helgen Pelgen !

Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters

I was at work again last night, measuring the sound level at yet another concert. This time the bands were Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters. The warm-up band was Mínus, an icelandic band that in my opinion really lives up to its name (yuk). I don't really know the two main bands really well but the concert was good. I liked Foo Fighters better. The sound level was within limits so everybody is happy :-)

Duran Duran - 20 years later and they still rule :-)

Yihaiii ! Last night I was measuring the sound level at the Duran Duran concert in Egilshöllin. My job does have some perks ! When I was 12 and listening to their music I would never have guessed that two decades later I would be listening to them playing at a concert in Iceland ! :-) I had a staff pass and got to use the toilett backstage, there I saw Roger Taylor. Whoohooo ! It was fun hearing favourites like Save a prayer, Wild Boys, Hungry like a Woolf, Rio and Planet Earth, yes and many more ! They also played my favourite, Ordinary World. Great show, great fun, great not having have to pay for the ticket :-D THE REFLEX FLEFLEFLEFLEFLEX !
