Burn motherf***er burn !

Allo ! The house next to mine caught fire around dinnertime tonight ! A little too close for comfort ! I all of a sudden heard the sirens and looked out the living room window and lo and behold ! Fire coming out the windows and the roof ! The fire was put out quickly but the damage is complete. A little excitement for the single mum :-)

And the teaching continues ! Steingrímur Páll is staying for the weekend and of course I had to show him the good stuff. Well...to calm the parents...this is light beer :-)

My father gravely ill :-(

My father has been in the hospital now for about 2 weeks with pneumonia. Yesterday we were called to a family meeting with his doctors where they informed us that they had tried all conventional methods to cure him, but he wasn't responding to the medication. So there was only one option left, where they would put a scope down into his lungs and take samples and clear the airways. This could make him better and give them the neccessary information about what bacteria/fungus/sumpthing was causing the pneumonia. But it could also make him worse. And the narcosis could also kill him. So we had to make a decision: would we allow resucitation ? The meeting was a great shock to us all, even if we did see that our father wasn't getting better. Today he had the operation and we are feeling moderately optimistic. He was looking better, although he was in a bad mood. The next few day will tell.... We just hope for the best outcome.

So far,so good

So, now I've been going to the gym for almost a month ! Way to go girl ! Not missed one session, being a real good girl. And imagine this, I am actually getting better ! My hip doesn't hurt so much anymore and some of the exercises are getting easier. If I continue this for a whole year I might just turn out a healthy girl. Now I'm at least good enough to take walks now. Imagine, in September I couldn't even take a walk without turning into an invalid. So, things are improving. And yes, I'm sticking to this ! And even the coffee and Pepsi Max de-tox is going ok. There have been some relapses, but hey, I knew it would be a rocky road ;-) Greetings from the healthy earthling !

12 years ago !!!! My daughters birthday :-)

Hilda Margrét is 12 years old today ! She got a new cell phone from her parents and lots of other goodies :-) Unbelievable ! My baby is growing up ! Soon I'll have a full-blown teenage situation on my hands. MEIN GOTT ! Still, the baby may grow up, but she'll always be my baby to me. Múslímúslí :-)

Silly girls !

Saturday night I went to a night club called NASA with my friend Kristín. We were dressed to kill, ready for action and feeling kind of cool. Real mean bitches. YEAH ! The band playing that night was Í svörtum fötum (men in black, loosely translated). The band is very popular, especially with the younger audience. The lead singer, Jónsi, is very popular and considered a sex symbol. Me and Kristin sat down in a booth near the stage entrance and started talking. We talked about the singer, yes we thought his muscular chest looked nice, but he wasn't goodlooking enough, bla bla bla. Then all of a sudden Jónsi comes walking towards us, to get to the stage entrance. We look at him and he breaks out in a lovely smile. And Whoom ! The coolest girls in the world turned into blubbering idiots ! We returned his smile with silly grins, all worked up like schoolgirls on their first dance. Then he was past and we just exploded with laughter ! So much for pretending not to like him eh, one smile and we are putty in his hands. Embarrassing ! But this really made our evening, even now I can't get the smile off my face :-)

Muscles aching !

Two days in a row at the gym! My body is protesting wildly ! OUCH ! But, it needs to be done. Our plan was to go tomorrow, but we are having a beer party at work that me and Helga have to arrange. Soooo, we had to go today, even if every cell in my body screamed NOOOOOO ! Still, this is getting to me. I'm even thinking of going swimming during the weekend. Once I pop, I can't stop. Svava the fitness queen ! (That will not be able to move tomorrow)

My latest craze

I love playing the game of Carcassone :-) I have bought one extention pack and am hopefully getting another one if my friends husband can find it in Glasgow. Big hurrays ! In this game you lay tiles and create cities, roads and cloisters. It's hightly addictive and I've managed to infect some of my friends. Niiccccceee. Now I'm fantasizing about Carcassone- the city, a wooden 3-d game where you build the actual city of Carcassone. I'm in looooove !

Pain pain pain

Went to the physical therapist today. There is a knot in my right shoulder that he has be working on, so I wasn't looking forward to this session. And boy was I right to anticipate trouble ! AAAAAAAAAAA ! The pain ! The agony ! Still, it has to be done. Why ? Yes, so I can go to the gym and produce more pain. Very logical don't you think ? Now I have found a partner in crime, my friend Helga is joining me. This will help me to actually get my butt to the gym. We went today and time just flew, I almost forgot I was exercising. ALMOST. Me likes :-) So, after a few months me and Helga are going to look soooooo good. Just you wait. But first... PAIN !
