Anybody want to hear about a miracle ? This happened in Denmark :



The car got stuck between a lorry and a road rail and was dragged 200 m before coming to a halt like this ! And the driver ? He was unharmed !! Danish police called this a miracle, I can only agree !

A great weekend ! Here are the highlights:
Friday: Went to a pub with my friend Sigrun and to the movie Pirates of the Carribean afterwards. Great movie, Johnny Depp was so much fun :-)
Saturday: I woke uncharacteristically early and went for a walk with my sister Steingerdur.at 10 in the morning. The walk was organized by Reykjaviks Tree planting society (Skograektafélagid). The aim was to identify the tallest trees in Fossvogsdalur and in Fossvogscemetary. The aim was also to a little birdwatching, I managed to see a blackbird that is a recent addition to the icelandic fauna. After lunch I went to Thingvellir with my mother and my sisters Margrét and Svanhildur, and Gudlaug, Svanhildurs daughter. We had a very knowledgeable and funny guide. His name is Sigurdur L?ndal and is a retired professor of law. We walked around and learned about all the important sites of the old Althingi. It was great fun ! But my ankle was killing me afterwards !! Saturday evening I spent with my friends Harpa and Gunna. We played games and chatted until well past 2 !
Sunday: Went for a drive with Ragnar, Hilda and Hilda's brother Heimir. We went birdwatching by Lake Hvaleyrarvatn. We didn't see many species but Ragnar saw a fox. I left my glasses at home so I was to late to spot it :-(

And finally, to top the weekend: My friend Sonja gave birth to a baby boy at 00:29 last night !!! He weighs 2250 g and was 50 cm long. Congratulation Sonja and Bjarni !!!!!

So good morning everyone ! Yesterday I had my new parket floor delivered and almost killed myself and Hildas father when moving it up to my aparment on the 4th floor !! GORGL ! My leg still hurts. But soon my livingroom will look very nice, that makes it all worth it :-))

So, yesterday was game club night. We have a new member, Maria, because Björg has gone to the UK to learn more about some stuff we don't know how to explain. Anyways, I had some ups and downs, but at least I wasn't a complete looser. Eating the lovely blueberry/banana/marenge cake that Magnea made really made me not care whether I lost or not :-) Mmmm, lots and lots of calories.....slurp. This morning I woke up early, feeling happy and chirpy but work quickly sucked all the energy out of me. Sigh. And the nails in my ankle are killing me. Nag nag nag. I'm going to look for something fun on the net. Taaahhh

Was babysitting Hildas brother yesterday and had so much fun. We danced together to MTV songs and played with matchbox cars. Finally a man that likes my company. The only catch is that he is only 2 years old. Sigh. Spent the evening alone because Hildas father kidnapped her (she went rather willingly) and left me not knowing what to do with myself. So, I took a LLLLLLLLLOOOOOONNNNGGGGG bath and then chatted with people on the phone. My life is so exciting !

Nice weekend by the way. Me and Hilda cleaned the apartment, weeeee. Saturday night we visited my friend Agusta and her new baby. I got to hold him and cuddle him, feeling broody, anyone ? Planning on buying parket for my living room today or tomorrow. Bye bye disgusting blue carpet !

Is it normal to be almost dead two days after harvesting potatoes ? Even if you've spent the summer in bed with a broken leg, one would think you could at least do a little work without being worn out for days !!!!!!!!!!!! Hrmphhh.

Nice weekend ! Friday night: Saying goodbye to now ex-co worker Björg (snuff snuff). Great bash, too much to drink as usual.... Saturday night: Video and beer night with my friend Sigrún. We watched the norwegian film Elling, VERY FUNNY film ! Sunday: Harvesting my potatoes in the valley Skammidalur. Got a bit of a shock at first since my part of the garden had allready been harvested ! Turned out Björg made a slight mistake, but I'll just take her potatoes instead :-) Then visited my friend Júlíana and enjoyed the great coffee her great big furry pet makes (her fiancé Matti). So, now it's Monday morning and my car wouldn't start so I came to work late, feeling rather put out. Fnys !

I'm back, from outer space !!! Ankle still very sore and I limp, but I'm back on my own two feet again. And I'm back to work. What a relief. It can get a tad boring to lie in bed staring at the ceiling all the time.
