Hilda the champion :-)

Today Hilda competed in a school athletics tournament. Children from the 7th and 8th grade competed today and Hilda won 4 of 5 events for 8th grade girls ! She even bested her records in the long jump and ball throwing. Am a very proud mum this evening :-)

A great weekend trip

Me and Hilda went on a weekend trip to S-Iceland with collegues from my workplace. We stayed in a tiny summerhouse at a place called Smáratún. The weather was wonderful and the sun was shining :-) My collegue Gunnar invited us to his summerhouse that lies nearby, where he and his wife had prepared delicious refreshment for the gang. The view from his house was fantastic. Then we took a short trip to see some interesting sights nearby and then returned to Smáratún where everybody dined together in the evening. The night sky was so beautiful, the northen lights dancing across the sky followed by shooting stars. It was hard to go inside and to bed, I wanted to gaze forever :-) Today we took a trip to Markarfljótsaurar and saw the remains of a forest destroyed by a flood, some few hundred years old. Then we ate pizza together at Hvolsvöllur before me and Hilda headed for home. We made an hours stop in Hveragerði to go swimming, then went home, tired but very happy after a great weekend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEINGRÍMUR PÁLL :-)

Today my darling Steingrímur turned 3 years old :-) Happy birthday little mouse ! I went to the birthday party today and the birthday boy was happily strolling around in his walker. He has gotten so good at using it that he steers it past obstacles without all help :-) He got a cool Madagascar birthday cake and ate half a slice before he went exploring again. Just look at the photos to see the good-looking young man in a shirt with a bow tie :-)

Dangermouse - powerhouse

Yesterday I got a phone call from my sister Helen. Her cat had brought in a mouse and wounded it. I told her to take it to the vet and if it was viable then I would nurse it back to health. Well, guess what. Mr. Dangermouse is in the house ! And he is so cute and cuddly. Almost paralyzed with fear, but at least it's eating :-) I'll let you follow it's health in the next couple of days ;-)
