Meditation and tonglen

Last weekend I had a meditation course, both Saturday and Sunday. It was a great course and it made me feel really calm and relaxed. Which is something I rarely experience, as people should know :-) We did some meditation, both sitting and walking, and then dined together in complete silence. That is not as easy as it sounds by the way :-) Then we learned a method called tonglen. Tonglen means "giving and taking". In Tibetan: 'tong' means 'sending out' or 'letting go' and 'len' means 'receiving' or 'accepting'. What you do is that you breathe in the the negative things and sorrow around you, destroy it and breathe out positivity and joy. You can do this to a person, a group, the earth or the universe. Quite an experience this was, and left me much food for thought. My teacher Dagmar Vala is just great. We also learned how to make a delicious organic vegetable paté. Mmmmmmmm ! Yummi ! Very good course indeed :-)
