Finally I can blog again :-)

Problems in Blogville... Due to batteries-related difficulties my computer suddenly turns itself off without a warning. Many a good blog has hence been lost in the past days. Fnys. Anyways. Been as busy as ever. Rob Nairn, a revered buddish teacher and meditator visited Iceland last week and I was lucky enough to attend his lecture last Friday and a short course on Saturday. There was also a meditation evening on Wednesday. Very good experience, Rob is an outstanding lecturer and teacher. A truly remarkable person :-) Friday was also beer night at work :-) Zhis time whiz a german theme, ja. We had a jolly good time, but I must admit that it was a tad difficult to concentrate during the first meditation session on Saturday morning... Sunday was busy busy busy ! Me and Hilda removed a carpet from the floor of the athletics hall in Laugardalur starting at 10:00, a part of a fundraising effort for her team. We finished at 11:30 and then went to visit Júlíana and family. Then at 14:00 we went to church. Hilda has to attend at least 7 masses before she is confirmed. Funnily enough, the church didn't sink to the ground nor was I struck by lightning when I stepped over the threshold. God must have been busy elsewhere.. Then after mass it was time to browse the shops at Kringlan Mall. Then at 16:30 we went to visit Svanhildur and family. Then at 17:00 it was time for a birthday party at Gunna's place. Her son Ingólfur turned six. Needless to say, there were a lot of goodies on the table, mmmmm. And of course a lot of talk and laughter :-) Then me and Hilda headed home, feeling VERY tired after the day ! Monday evening the girls got together and visited Sif and family to see the tiny Eyrún. We got to hold her and chat away, also talk to her sister that is rapidly becoming better at talking :-) Very nice :-) We brought Sif a gift certificate for Smáralind mall, that will no doubt become in handy. Tuesday it was time to fight for nature. After a lovely dinner of fish soup at my mother's place (buuurp, yummy), I along with 11.000 others marched down Laugavegur road to protest the filling of the resevoir for Kárahnjúkar powerstation. The aim was to stop the filling of the resevoir and get the goverment to find other ways to supply power for an aluminium plant in Reyðarfjörður. Unfortunately, a little too late to stand up, tomorrow they start letting the water in. Sigh. At least we did show up and have our say. And now, Wednesday evening I'm just back from meditation evening. Feeling relaxed and happy. Good night - over and out :-)
