A nice trip to Snæfellsnes

Saturday me and Hilda went to Snæfellsnes with a group of my co-workers and their families. The day started with a little bit of panic because I couldn't find the key to my storage room to get our sleeping bags ! I finally remembered that the keys were on my desk at work. Hrmph ! So, I drove to Skúlagata 19, got the keys and was picked up by the bus at a gas station, complete with sleeping bags. Despite bad weather the group was in high spirits. We had lunch in Borgarnes (healthy hamburgers) and then drove to Snæfellsnes. There we went to Djúpalónssandur were some tried their luck with the famous 4 stones situated there that were supposed to determine if you were strong enough to go sailing. The lightest, Amlóði (means whimp) weighs 24 kgs, Fullsterkur, the heaviest, weighs 154 kgs ! Hilda was able to lift Amlóði :-) Then we looked at the surf and examined some cool rocks on the beachs. Then a group walked 1 km to Dritvík, a place where people came to go fishing from in the old days. By then it was getting really windy, Hilda could lean back and the wind would hold her steady ! So we returned to the bus and drove to Arnarstapi where we had some refreshements in the local coffeeshop/restaurant. Then we drove to Garðar, where we spent the night. We had grilled lamb for dinner, mmmmmmmmm ! The evening was spent with jolly conversations, and the kids played together and needed no looking after :-) Very nice indeed ! The next morning we drove to Reykjavík, all feeling pretty good after a great trip :-)
